Beer of the Week

The beer: Coffee Cream Ale

The brewery: Warwick Farm Brewing, Jamison, Pennsylvania

Description (from Untappd): "A crisp, light-bodied cream ale infused with fresh roasted coffee from Event Expresso."

Would I buy it again? Cream ales are usually light, easy-drinking beers; the kind of thing where you can drink multiple servings without major issue. That's an interesting vehicle for coffee flavoring; you typically see coffee stouts or perhaps coffee porters. Heavy, thick beer. In theory, that made this an interesting combination — a heavy flavor paired with a light beer. In reality, this beer kind of tasting like nothing. Just bland and not really coffee-ish in any way. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, because it did still taste like beer, but it just felt like a missed opportunity to me. I would not buy this again.
